Renowned recycling equipment specialist Riverside Waste Machinery has announced the launch of a dedicated compacting division, on the back of rising customer demand.
For more than 20 years the North Yorkshire headquartered engineering team has become renowned for its UK supply and servicing of waste balers. But as the company’s industry presence has grown, so too has the variety of technology offered.
Having previously introduced bin, bag and drum presses – plus drum crushers and tipper skips – to its portfolio, managing director Jonathan Oldfield has now unveiled three key new compactor models, within Riverside’s waste machinery range.
The RWM CE2000 and RWM CE3000 are two static compactors ideal for dry commercial and industrial waste and recyclables. Achieving an average 4:1 volume reduction rate, these neat yet robust machines are designed for use by manufacturers and other industrial users looking to optimise their payloads and reduce their waste handling costs.
A portable RWM CE32/30 currently completes the fleet. This compactor is designed for supermarkets, shopping centres, food manufacturers and restaurants with space-constrained sites who also want to reduce the volume of their waste arisings. With a liquid retentive seal that prevents effluent discharge, this is perfect for wet wastes.
All machines are supplied with state-of-the-art data management including proactive SMS/email alerts notifying the customer of the compactors’ fill level and machine operational/fault status, wherever they may be. A number of machine-specific configurations including hopper and loading configurations, ancillary equipment options and colour choices, are also available.
“This is not about us becoming a jack of all trades,” stresses Jonathan. “But industry needs are evolving and we’re increasingly finding that companies – especially customers who already know and trust Riverside – are approaching us to ask if we can help with their compacting needs.
“The introduction of waste compactors is therefore a logical extension to our business proposition. I have spent three years exploring the marketplace and getting to grips with operator requirements, to get us to this stage, and the extent of the configurations available means we can satisfy hundreds of different specifications. I look forward to seeing the difference that this expansion makes, to both our organisation, and our clients’.”
This is not the first augmentation of Riverside’s product offering. In late 2017 the company launched an online shop for waste baler consumables, which now equate to 15% of business revenue.
“We work in an exciting industry, yet one which is constantly in a state of flux,” concluded Jonathan. “We’re therefore constantly analysing how we can improve the customer experience, from providing certified operator training and boosting on-site safety levels, to delivering cost-effective high quality baling tape, twine and wire to complete organisations’ baling requirements.
“Now we can help companies compact their waste too.”
The waste compactors are available to purchase or hire.
