Less than seven hours after Riverside Waste Machinery opened its doors for 2015, managing director Jonathan Oldfield had sold the company’s first two waste balers of the year.
The first – a German-engineered HSM 860 ECO – is an energy-saving vertical cardboard baler. This was sold to a Yorkshire butcher for handling the firm’s dry packaging waste, and is capable of producing bales of up to 480kg. A visit to Riverside’s Boroughbridge headquarters enabled the client to see the machinery ‘in the flesh’, before signing on the dotted line.
The second deal of the day was for a clever shredder and baler combination unit, which will be deployed on a five year lease to a long-standing client. This satisfied customer – a handler of confidential waste paper – approached Riverside late last year, to discuss the company’s new waste handling requirements. Following an audit of the client’s needs, Jonathan advised a robust multi-faceted recycling solution which can handle the shredding and baling of secure documents with just one machine. And today, impressed with the recommendation, the client proceeded with the order. The compact HSM SP4040 will firstly destroy the confidential paper, before compressing the material into bales of up to 35kg and achieving security level DIN 66399 as a result.
Understandably, Jonathan is delighted with this great start to the year. “We finished 2014 on a real high and it seems that, so far, we are continuing the momentum we’d worked hard to build up,” he said. “There’s really no better way to energise the team as 2015 gets underway.
“But we’re not the type of company to be complacent,” he continues. “We have big plans for our website this year, we are set to unfold some exciting technological innovations within our waste baler range, and we’ve identified ways to deliver incredibly value-adding recycling solutions to key vertical sectors including retail, logistics and manufacturing, to name just a few.”
It seems 2015 might be a very exciting year for this well-established, family-owned waste baler business.
